Cyber security in the commercial vehicle industry
In the digital commercial vehicle industry and transport chain, vehicles, companies and retailers are exchanging more and more amounts of data. These increasing connected systems also offer growing potential for attackers who want to tap into sensitive data or manipulate vehicle functions.
From 06/2024 onward the UNECE regulation 155 demands that all newly registered vehicles have to be compliant to the cyber security aspects of the respective regulation. To achieve this, a cyber security engineering process has to be applied for vehicles and their components. While UNECE R155 affects OEMs, the OEMs typically require ISO/SAE 21434 compliance from their suppliers.
Call on us as your partner, leveraging our strategy consulting services to ensure your compliance with regulations and OEM requirements. We also support you in the development of secure products – from risk analysis to testing – always aligned with ISO/SAE 21434.

Success Story
Safe hydrogen powertrains for commercial vehicles
Together with partners from industry and business, ITK Engineering is developing a hydrogen-based propulsion system for commercial vehicles in the medium-duty sector as part of the “WaVe” collaborative project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
ITK Engineering joined forces with partners in politics, industry and science to pursue the YardManagementHDH project. This initiative goes to increase safety, efficiency, and sustainability in logistics yards and container terminals.
Situationally aware automotive systems offer great opportunities for users, businesses, and society as a whole. However, they do entail a special type of risk. The future ISO 21448 standard provides the blueprint for mitigating this risk with state-of-the-art tech.
Tomorrow’s transport chain Sustainable. Safe. Efficient.
Keeping pace with the digital transformation and complying with changing regulations requires innovative concepts.
