Securely connecting medical devices and leveraging data potentials
Digital transformation and the enhanced networking of various players in the healthcare sector have dramatically increased the number of medical devices on the market that collect, collate, analyse and transmit data: patients are connecting with their doctors via wearables and medical apps. Medical device manufacturers and clinics are sharing device data via medical devices connected to the cloud. Service technicians connect remotely to medical devices to diagnose system errors. The data potential of the “Internet of Medical Things” is therefore immense.
Connected medical devices provide extensive operating data for analysis. This allows targeted data to be collected, evaluated and used for a wide variety of use cases.
This data is not only a boon for device manufacturers but is also urgently needed for the post market surveillance, the requirements of which have become significantly more stringent as a result of the MDR that recently came into force. But how can medical devices be securely connected and what can and cannot be achieved by using data analytics?
In this webinar, we share our know-how and experience from development practice. After an overview of the data analytics benefits and possible use cases, we will show what challenges arise in connecting devices, how these can be mastered and what needs to be considered especially regarding cybersecurity and data protection.
